“GeoGuessr is a game best experienced with a thriving community. By launching in Early Access, we can refine the gameplay, introduce new features, and ensure the best possible experience with direct feedback from players. Our goal is to create the ultimate competitive and casual geography game, and Early Access allows us to evolve alongside our players.”

“We expect to remain in Early Access for at least six months, but this may change as we develop new features and refine gameplay based on player feedback.”

计划中的完整版本和抢先体验版本到底有多少不同？

“During Early Access, we aim to expand GeoGuessr Steam Edition with new game modes, maps, and competitive features. We plan to refine matchmaking, introduce more customization options, and enhance the overall gameplay experience with community-driven improvements. The goal is that the full version will reflect a more polished, content-rich experience based on what players love most.”

抢先体验版本的现状如何？

“The Early Access version of GeoGuessr primarily includes competitive Solo Duels, while also allowing users to play casual (unranked) Team Duels. Players can compete against users from all over the world, explore diverse locations, and climb the ranks in competitive play. While the core experience is already solid, we are continuously refining mechanics, UI, and progression systems to enhance long-term engagement.”

“The price will not change for the duration of Early Access period. Nor is it likely that we will increase the price upon ending Early Access, but if we do, we’ll always provide clear communication before making any changes.
Players who join during Early Access will retain access to all updates throughout development.”

“Our players are at the heart of GeoGuessr. We’ll be actively engaging with the community on Steam discussions, Discord, and social media, gathering feedback to fine-tune gameplay, balance competitive features, and introduce new content.”

关于此游戏

The Free edition includes unlimited Team Duels, and unlimited Amateur Division duels (should you not already have completed the Placement games on web).

In-game purchase of 1 year Steam Pass is required to play Ranked Solo Duels, or be on an Unlimited Yearly or Elite Yearly subscription.

GeoGuessr Steam Edition takes you on a journey around the world, challenging you to recognize locations and outsmart your opponents. Each round places you in an unknown location, where you must use landscapes, signs, and landmarks to pinpoint your position. Face off against players worldwide in exciting multiplayer battles. Climb the leaderboard, sharpen your geography skills, and discover famous landmarks or hidden corners of the world. Every guess brings you closer to victory. Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate champion?

In this edition, you’ll compete against players from around the world in competitive Solo Duels. Starting in the Amateur Division, the game mode is structured around a ranking system. With skill and perseverance, you can rise to the prestigious Champion Division, where the best players face off to prove their mastery of the world. On your way to the Champion Division, you’ll access new features and game modes, such as No Move and the legendary NMPZ.

In addition to the full Solo Duels experience, you can access unranked Team Duels. Team up with a Steam friend and play together against another duo from anywhere in the world!

The free offering includes:

Unlimited access to Amateur Division
Unlimited access to unranked Team Duels

To unlock the full Solo Duels experience, you’ll need to purchase a GeoGuessr Steam Pass inside the game, or be on an Unlimited Yearly or Elite Yearly subscription.

General notes:

Having a GeoGuessr browser subscription does not grant you full access to the GeoGuessr Steam Edition, unless you have an Unlimited Yearly or Elite Yearly subscription. Nor does a GeoGuessr Steam Pass grant you access to the GeoGuessr browser version.
GeoGuessr Steam Pass holders will be able to cross-play against GeoGuessr browser subscribers and vice versa.
