Lines of Battle is an actively developing competitive wargame aiming to provide a unique avenue for engaging with the linear warfare most popularly seen in the Napoleonic Wars. This game, developed initially by one man and supported by a large community, has the following to offer the casual wargamer and the history buff alike:

• Simultaneous Turn-Based Battles: Using a WeGo system of simultaneous turns, players will give orders to their units at the same time and see their plans play out over the course of the next turn, requiring careful planning and a reading of your opponent’s moves.

• Both Dynamic and Historical Battles: Fight on procedurally generated maps featuring a variety of terrains with your own custom armies, or fight through some of history’s great victories and defeats with the armies of the time.

• Historical Units and Progression: Starting with basic infantry, cavalry, and artillery units you can fight through great victories and glorious last stands to unlock a total of 15 well-balanced units used across the European battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars, with more being added as the game develops.

• Ranked and Casual Play: Play in Ranked Matchmaking against over 150,000 registered users in 1v1 and 2v2 matches, or play custom games against friends with up to 8 players on the battlefield.

Lines of Battle is ultimately a passion project made by a community that loves wargaming, loves history and wants to bring a new experience to the stage for those who are tired of the more fast-paced actions-per-minute gameplay of other real time strategy games.

Historical authenticity and a focus on producing realistic outcomes is at the core of many of the changes to mechanics and balance, with fun and engaging gameplay being the result. With every update, real tactics become more viable. The “meta” of the game is ever-changing, ensuring no one tactic ever becomes dominant or makes the game stale.
